Edu: 'Alexis Sanchez is Arsenal's best player'

Edu believes that Alexis Sanchez is Arsenal's best player this season and is 'not surprised' that the Chilean has adapted to the Premier League so quickly.

Former Arsenal midfielder Edu has admitted that he is 'not surprised' that Alexis Sanchez has settled into life at the Emirates quickly this season.

The Chile international has scored 18 goals so far in the campaign following his arrival from Barcelona last year.

"At the moment he is doing fantastically well for Arsenal - he is arguably their best player of the season so far," the London Evening Standard quotes Edu as saying. "Many people say that he is one of the current top five players in the world in the position he plays in.

"He has adapted very well to English football but that doesn't surprise me, given his talent. English football is a different style of football, especially if you contrast it with Barcelona's unique style. He is very strong player too which surprises many people."

Sanchez spent three years at Barca before moving to the Premier League.
