Edu moves to Chinese club Liaoning Whowin after requesting for his contract to be terminated by Schalke 04.

Brazilian striker Edu has joined Chinese side Liaoning Whowin on a free transfer after his contract was terminated by Schalke 04.

Eduardo played 43 times for Schalke since joining the Bundesliga side in 2010 but the 31-year-old has now moved to renew his career in China.

"Edu approached us, asking to be able to change clubs," Bundesliga.de quotes sporting director Horst Heldt as saying.

"We thank him for his commitment to Schalke 04 and wish Edu well in his career and for the future."

Edu scored five league goals in his time at Schalke.
