Abou Diaby's Arsenal return delayed by groin injury

Arsene Wenger confirms that Abou Diaby will not make his Arsenal comeback against Newcastle United on Monday after suffering a groin problem in midweek.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that Abou Diaby will not make his comeback against Newcastle United on Monday.

The Frenchman returned to full training last week following a lengthy spell on the sidelines with injury.

Diaby has not played for the Gunners since tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his knee in March last year.

While the 27-year-old has been tipped for a return, Wenger confirmed in Friday's press conference that Diaby suffered a groin problem during an Under-21s match in midweek.

Arsenal are currently fourth in the Premier League table, one point above Everton with three games left to play.
