Nigel Adkins: 'Calum Chambers's attitude is excellent'

Reading boss Nigel Adkins believes that Calum Chambers's attitude is perfect for Arsenal, following his move from Southampton.

Reading boss Nigel Adkins believes that Calum Chambers's attitude to his football will see him become a success at Arsenal.

The young right-back moved to the Gunners on Monday, and the former Saints manager thinks that Chambers will prove to be a successful buy for Arsene Wenger.

He told Sky Sports News: "To see Calum having his move to Arsenal, having played 20-odd games in the Premier League last season is great.

"His attitude is fantastic is great, his willingness to keep working hard, that's what it's all about to improve on all aspects of your game.

"His feet are well and truly on the ground, he's got a great manner about himself, and I think that speaks volumes."

Chambers is just one of a number of Saints stars who have been sold this summer, as Dejan Lovren, Adam Lallana and Rickie Lambert have joined Liverpool, while Luke Shaw has made the switch to Manchester United.
