Report: Southampton close in on trio

Three unnamed players are reportedly on the verge of signing for Premier League side Southampton.

Southampton are reportedly prepared to reinvest some of the £92m that they have recouped from player sales this summer by adding three new faces to the squad before the end of the week.

Ten players, including Adam Lallana, Rickie Lambert, Luke Shaw and Dejan Lovren have all departed St Mary's Stadium in recent weeks, while both Morgan Schneiderlin and Jay Rodriguez are expected to join Tottenham Hotspur in the near future.

Dusan Tadic and Graziano Pelle have arrived on the South Coast, but new boss Ronald Koeman is close to signing three more players, including a goalkeeper, according to Sky Sports News.

The report adds that a defender and a striker are also in advanced negotiations with the Saints.
