Nigel Adkins tips Adam Lallana for Liverpool success

Adam Lallana is backed for success at Liverpool by his former manager Southampton Nigel Adkins.

Former Southampton boss Nigel Adkins has backed Adam Lallana for success at Liverpool.

The England international moved to the Reds for around £25m following the conclusion of the Three Lions' World Cup campaign, and Reading manager Adkins believes that Lallana has the right mentality to thrive at Anfield.

"Adam Lallana was the best trainer, every day," Adkins told Sky Sports News.

"And his enthusiasm and his desire to keep improving [was there for all to see]. He loved football and his passion rubbed off on everyone else.

"He's got a great attitude and work-rate that you just love and a desire to keep improving."

Liverpool have also signed Rickie Lambert and Dejan Lovren from the Saints this summer.
