Arsenal open their Champions League group stage with a 1-1 draw away to Borussia Dortmund.

Arsenal have opened their Champions League group stage with a 1-1 draw away to Borussia Dortmund.

While the Bundesliga champions had more shots on target, it was the visiting Gunners that managed to score after 42 minutes when captain Robin Van Persie scored from just inside the area.

The home side managed to wrest more possession than they had enjoyed in the first half, culminating in a goal from Ivan Perisic two minutes before full-time and salvaging a point.

Arsenal will next host Olympiacos on Wednesday, September 28.
