Arsenal team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Sevilla

Sports Mole rounds up all of Arsenal's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Wednesday's Champions League clash with Sevilla.

Still seething from a perceived sense of injustice at the weekend, Arsenal return to Champions League action on Wednesday, as Sevilla visit the Emirates for a Group B battle.

The Gunners lost for the first time in this season's Premier League on Saturday evening, suffering a 1-0 defeat to Newcastle United through a controversial Anthony Gordon goal, which was awarded after three separate VAR checks.

While Arsenal are not looking down on the other 19 Premier League teams, they are sitting pretty at the summit of their Champions League section, having left Sevilla's territory with a 2-1 win a fortnight ago.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Arsenal's injury and suspension news ahead of their showdown with Sevilla, who are third in the group with two points to their name.

Eddie Nketiah

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Knock
Possible return date: November 8 (vs. Sevilla)

Eddie Nketiah missed team training on Tuesday due to a knock sustained in the loss to Newcastle, which is not believed to be severe, but the Englishman has emerged as a doubt for the contest regardless.

Martin Odegaard

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Hip
Possible return date: November 8 (vs. Sevilla)

Martin Odegaard has been able to play through a hip niggle for the past couple of weeks, but the Gunners captain was not fit enough to take on Newcastle at the weekend, and it remains to be seen whether he is given the all-clear to face the Europa League holders.

Emile Smith Rowe

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

One man who will not receive the green light to play is Emile Smith Rowe, who picked up a knee injury before last week's EFL Cup loss to West Ham United and is facing weeks on the sidelines.

Jurrien Timber

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Jurrien Timber is also nursing his own knee issue, albeit a far more serious one, and the former Ajax man is fighting to return from his ACL affliction before the end of the season.

Gabriel Jesus

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: November 25 (vs. Brentford)

Gabriel Jesus shone against Sevilla two weeks ago with a goal and assist, but the Brazilian's night ended prematurely as he sustained a hamstring injury in the dying embers, which should keep him out until after the next international break.

Thomas Partey

Status: Out
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: November 25 (vs. Brentford)

Similarly, Thomas Partey did not make the cut against Sevilla at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan due to a muscular issue, and the Ghana international will not be back to full fitness for at least another couple of weeks.

ARSENAL'S SUSPENSION LIST

Arsenal have no players suspended for this match.
