League Two roundup: Hiram Boateng strike puts Plymouth Argyle top

Hiram Boateng fires Plymouth Argyle to the top of League Two after a victory over Crawley Town but Wycombe Wanderers slump to defeat against Northampton Town.

Hiram Boateng's late goal has seen Plymouth Argyle move top of League Two with a hard-fought win over Crawley Town.

Reuben Reid had given the Green Army a first-half lead, but the hosts looked to have been denied victory after Roarie Deacon's 85th-minute equaliser at Home Park.

However, Boateng popped up in the 89th minute as Argyle move above Wycombe Wanderers, who lost 3-2 at home to Northampton Town.

Goals from Marc Richards, Lawson D'Ath and Luke Brisley were enough for the Cobblers to take victory at Adams Park, despite a late effort from Danny Rowe.

Meanwhile, Leyton Orient are also into the top three after two goals from Sammy Moore helped them to a 3-1 win over Notts County.

Two late Liam Sercombe strikes, including one from the penalty spot, saw Oxford United move into fifth with a 3-1 triumph at Accrington Stanley, who stay in the playoff places on goal difference.

Goals in the last 10 minutes from Krystian Pearce and Adi Yussuf have helped Mansfield Town into the top seven after edging a seven-goal thriller with Dagenham & Redbridge.

In the other seven-goal thriller in the division, newly-promoted Bristol Rovers moved into the top half after winning at Morecombe.

Ellis Harrison's 80th-minute penalty proved enough for the Pirates, despite a late spot kick from Paul Mullin for the hosts.

Luton Town are within two points of the playoff places after two goals from Jack Marriott helped them to a 4-1 win at Hartlepool United.

Carlisle United needed a late Tom Miller goal to seal victory at Stevenage, while Lenell John-Lewis's goal denied Exeter City three points against bottom-of-the-table Newport County.

Sean Rigg's stoppage-time strike sealed a 2-0 win for AFC Wimbledon against Barnet, who have now failed to take a point in their six away league matches this term.

Yeovil Town are just outside the relegation zone after playing out a goalless draw at Portsmouth, while late goals from Mark Roberts and Barry Corr saw Cambridge United come from two-goals down to draw at York City.
