Jo-Wilfried Tsonga advances to the last four at Wimbledon with a 7-6 4-6 7-6 6-2 success over Philipp Kohlschreiber.

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga has reached the semi-finals of Wimbledon after defeating Philipp Kohlschreiber in four sets.

Both men boast a strong serve and neither were broken in the opening set that went to a tie-break.

The following breaker was different, with a total of five mini-breaks that led to Tsonga edging it 7-5 to move ahead in the match.

Kohlscreiber broke at the first time of asking in the second before Tsonga pegged him back in the seventh game of the set.

The German was not to be denied the set, however, and took it 6-4 by breaking the Tsonga serve once again.

The third set followed in the fashion of the first and was nip and tuck until the tie-break when Tsonga yet again proved his mettle by dominating the points to take it to three.

Both men opened the fourth with love service games before Tsonga then broke to-love in the fourth game to grab an advantage.

The fifth seed didn't surrender it and broke again in the eighth game of the set to seal the fourth 6-2 and book his place in the semis.

The Frenchman will next face either Andy Murray or David Ferrer, who are still contesting their quarter-final on Centre Court, in the last four.
