Rafael Nadal withdraws from Paris Masters

World number three Rafael Nadal withdraws from next week's Paris Masters due to personal reasons.

Rafael Nadal has announced that he has chosen to withdraw from next week's Paris Masters.

The 28-year-old has been struggling in recent weeks with injury and appendicitis, but he has displayed some of his best form in reaching the quarter-finals in Basel this week.

However, the world number three has revealed that he won't be competing in the Paris Masters next week due to personal reasons, but has so far made no decision regarding his participation at the ATP Tour Finals in London.

If the Spaniard does opt against playing in London, that could benefit the likes of Andy Murray, David Ferrer and Milos Raonic who are all vying for the remaining slots for the O2 Arena.
