Laura Robson has been knocked out of the French Open following a 6-2 6-1 defeat to Anabel Garrigues on court 6 in Paris.
The British teenager held her own in the opening exchanges of the first set, but Garrigues' experience came into play, which allowed the Spaniard to snatch the first break of serve and take control of the match.
Despite a number of impressive forehand shots from Robson, her 29-year-old opponent clinched the opener six games to two on the clay court.
Garrigues continued her dominance in the early stages of the second set, by claiming the first break, which was a blow to the 18-year-old, who began to struggle.
Despite a positive performance, Robson failed to make her mark on the contest and ended her French Open campaign abruptly after Garrigues clinched the victory with ease.
