Bradford Bulls sign Dane Nielsen

Bradford Bulls complete the signing of centre Dane Nielsen in time for their Super 8s Qualifiers campaign.

Centre Dane Nielsen has become the latest player to join Bradford Bulls ahead of their Super 8s Qualifiers campaign.

The 30-year-old was released by St George Illawarra in May due to an incident involving an assault in a pub.

However, he has now signed a contract with the Bulls until the end of next season and is expected to be available when the Super 8s Qualifiers get underway next week as Bradford go in search of an immediate return to the Super League.

"I expect Dane to make a huge impact for us. He is raring to go and is already in good shape," Bulls head coach James Lowes told the club's official website.

"He will bring a wealth of experience, having played at the highest level for the past nine years or so. Obviously we will assess him when he arrives but he certainly isn't coming to train. He is here to play and we have signed him to play in the centres.

"There is a wealth of competition for places out wide but perhaps what we are lacking is a little experience - and he will certainly bring it. I expect him to be a strong character around the place, giving us some real leadership during what is an exciting, yet crucial part of our campaign."

Nielsen has made three State of Origin appearances for Queensland and won the NRL Grand Final during his time with Melbourne.

The Bulls last week captured the signatures of James Clare and Matt Ryan, but waited until today to reveal their latest signing despite completing the deal on Friday.
