Preview: Yeovil Town vs. Burnley

Sports Mole previews Saturday's Championship clash between struggling Yeovil and high-flying Burnley at Huish Park.

Burnley will be looking to keep the pressure on top-of-the-table Leicester City when they travel to Huish Park to face struggling Yeovil Town on Saturday.

The Clarets currently sit second in the Championship table, four points behind the Foxes and just one clear of Queens Park Rangers in third.

They go into Saturday's match on the back of a seven-goal thriller against Southampton in the FA Cup that saw them eliminated from the competition by Mauricio Pochettino's side.

However, in the league they have lost just one of their last seven matches to put themselves in a good position to launch an automatic promotion charge in the second half of the season.

After a good start to the campaign on their travels, Burnley have not won any of their last seven away games in all competitions, last picking up three points against Ipswich Town in October.

The visitors will be boosted by the news that in-form striker Sam Vokes has signed a new contract, and he is expected to start up front again this weekend, with Ross Wallace providing Burnley's only injury concern.

Yeovil are in need of a win for very different reasons as they remain in the relegation zone, level on points with bottom-placed Barnsley and five points from safety.

The Glovers cruised into the fourth round of the FA Cup on Saturday courtesy of a 4-0 win over Leyton Orient, but they have been unable to translate that form into the league.

They have lost their last three Championship games and are without a win in five league matches overall, last picking up maximum points against Blackpool more than a month ago.

Having opened the season with five defeats in a row at home, Yeovil have improved in front of their own fans recently with only two losses in their last seven, although their last league outing at Huish Park saw them defeated 1-0 by Blackburn Rovers.

Gary Johnson's men have struggled to find the net this season, posting the worst goals for record in the league with just 18 - the same amount that Burnley have conceded in their 24 matches.

The Yeovil boss does have a fully fit squad to choose from, though, and he is expected to welcome Byron Webster and Marek Stech back into the starting lineup.
