RSPCA deny claims from West Ham United manager David Moyes that Kurt Zouma has been offered animal welfare courses.

RSPCA have denied claims from West Ham United manager David Moyes that Kurt Zouma has been offered animal welfare courses.

Last weekend, disturbing footage emerged on Snapchat of the 27-year-old kicking and slapping his pet cat in his London home.

Zouma has since been fined £250,000 by the Hammers, who – at the player's request – intend to donate the fine to animal welfare charities, while the RSPCA have taken his cats away as they conduct the investigation.

Moyes told the press ahead of Sunday's game at Leicester City that "the RSPCA are going to provide [Zouma] with classes" about the treatment and welfare of animals; however, the RSPCA has since refuted those claims.

On Saturday, a RSPCA spokesperson said in a statement that "there have been no plans made for animal welfare courses to be undertaken".

They added that they have "not been offered or accepted a donation" and that their " focus remains entirely on our experienced officers carrying out a full and thorough investigation".

Moyes, who controversially started Zouma in their 1-0 win over Watford on Tuesday, has confirmed that the defender will be available to play at the King Power Stadium on Sunday, despite the ongoing investigation.
