Brentford are reportedly on the verge of signing defender Michael Kayode from Serie A side Fiorentina.
The 20-year-old has previously been linked with a number of other Premier League clubs including Liverpool, who were understood to have added the Italian to their shortlist of targets.
However, journalist Fabrizio Romano claims that Thomas Frank's Brentford are now closing in on the signing of Kayode, with negotiations at the 'final stages' after the player gave the green light to join the Bees.
'Key details' still need to be clarified in club-to-club talks, but it appears that Brentford are set to bolster their ranks with a highly-rated defender, who can operate as a full-back or wing-back.
Brentford's move for Kayode comes at a time when fellow full-back Mads Roerslev has been linked with a move to Wolfsburg, who have allegedly open talks to sign the Denmark international on loan.
Kayode has made a total of 49 senior appearances for Fiorentina since joining in 2021, but he has been limited to only one start and four substitute outings in Serie A this season and is seemingly ready to move on in search of regular game time.

Wolves set to hijack Fenerbahce's Carlos pursuit?
Staying in the Premier League and Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly ready to hijack Fenerbahce's move for Aston Villa defender Diego Carlos.
The Daily Mail claims that Aston Villa had agreed to sell Carlos to Fenerbahce for £10m and the 31-year-old was expected to arrive in Istanbul on Monday night ahead of finalising his transfer to Jose Mourinho's side.
However, it is now understood that Wolves have made a rival £10m offer for Carlos as his 'on-off move' to the Turkish giants has stalled.
Carlos is yet to agree terms with Fenerbahce and Wolves could now swoop in to sign the centre-back and keep him in the Premier League.
Villa, meanwhile, have identified Sevilla defender Loic Bade as one of their top targets to replace Carlos, but they are waiting for the Brazilian's future to be resolved.
Carlos is ready to seek pastures new having only started eight of Villa's 21 Premier League games under Unai Emery this season.

Charlotte FC set to announce Zaha signing
Elsewhere, Wilfried Zaha is edging closer to completing a move to MLS outfit Charlotte FC.
The former Crystal Palace winger is still on the books at Galatasaray, but he has spent the first half of this season on loan in France with Ligue 1 club Lyon.
Zaha has played just six times for Lyon in all competitions, though, and at the age of 32 is seemingly ready for a fresh challenge in the United States.
According to Sky Sports News, Zaha has agreed to join Charlotte on loan for the 2025 MLS season in a deal which includes the option to extend his stay by a further six months.
Zaha is said to have had medical checks over the weekend after flying to the US and an announcement of his arrival at Charlotte is expected to be made this week.
Charlotte, managed by former Brentford, Aston Villa and Norwich City boss Dean Smith, hoped to have signed Zaha before they travelled to Miami for pre-season training, but they are awaiting paperwork to be finalised by the MLS.
