Francesco Guidolin apologises to Neil Taylor for early substitution against Chelsea

Swansea City manager Francesco Guidolin publicly apologises to Neil Taylor for substituting him early in their side's 2-2 draw against Chelsea on Sunday.

Swansea City manager Francesco Guidolin has apologised to Neil Taylor for substituting him early on during their side's 2-2 draw against Chelsea at the Liberty Stadium on Sunday.

The Welsh side fell a goal behind in the first half and were struggling against their opponents, prompting the Italian to switch formation and make a tactical substitution.

Modou Barrow came on five minutes before the break, with Taylor the man who made way, and the latter appeared to be visibly frustrated by the change.

Guidolin told Sky Sports News after the game: "I chose to change something and I am sorry with Neil Taylor. He is a good guy. He understood - there's no problem between us.

"In the dressing room we spoke together - no problem. At that moment my team needed a reaction and I had to change something."

The result puts Swansea 13th in the Premier League table.
