Preview: Tottenham Hotspur vs. West Ham United

Sports Mole previews the London derby between Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United.

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Mauricio Pochettino will recall a number of players for the London derby with West Ham United on Sunday afternoon.

Pochettino opted to start the likes of Erik Lamela and Harry Kane on the substitutes' bench for the Europa League clash with Fiorentina, but both are expected to feature against the Hammers.

It was a slightly surprising move to rest Kane, who has netted 23 goals this season, but the England Under-21 international had already made 35 appearances for Spurs before Thursday night.

The North London outfit have only registered nine points from their last six games, something which will need to improve if they are to qualify for the Champions League, but Pochettino will be generally content with his team's performances since the turn of the year.

Reports this weekend have indicated that West Ham boss Sam Allardyce could depart Upton Park, despite leading the club to eighth place in the Premier League table this season.

The Hammers have, so far, failed to build on featuring in the top six earlier in the campaign, but the club have only lost once in their previous six Premier League fixtures.

However, a heavy 4-0 defeat at West Bromwich Albion in the FA Cup wouldn't have helped Allardyce, and he will be aware that only victory at White Hart Lane will be enough to quieten speculation about his future.

Striker Andy Carroll is absent for the rest of the season, but Allardyce is boosted by the return of Winston Reid, James Collins and Matt Jarvis.

The return of two defenders could see Cheikhou Kouyate pushed further forward into a more familiar central-midfield role.
