Gylfi Sigurdsson confident of beating Manchester United

Gylfi Sigurdsson says that Tottenham Hotspur want to repay their fans after their 6-0 defeat to Manchester City by beating Manchester United this weekend.

Gylfi Sigurdsson has said that Tottenham Hotspur are focused on beating Manchester United in the Premier League this weekend.

Spurs suffered a 6-0 defeat to Manchester City last Sunday, but bounced back with a 2-0 victory over Tromso IL in the Europa League on Thursday evening.

Sigurdsson admitted that it was important for his team to win in Europe after such a bad result and is keen to repay the fans with three points at White Hart Lane.

"United have fantastic players but we're back at home and we're after the three points," he told the club's official website. "We'll need to play at the top of our game to do that but everyone is determined to put on a performance.

"We beat United at Old Trafford last season and drew at home, so we know we're capable.

"Hopefully we can continue doing what we did against Tromso and score a few goals on Sunday. We need to bounce back and give the fans what they deserve."

Tottenham are currently ninth in the Premier League table.
