Tim Sherwood impressed by Nabil Bentaleb

Tottenham Hotspur interim head coach Tim Sherwood admits that he was impressed by debutant Nabil Bentaleb during Sunday's 3-2 win over Southampton.

Tottenham Hotspur interim head coach Tim Sherwood has admitted that he was impressed by debutant Nabil Bentaleb during Sunday's win over Southampton in the Premier League.

The 19-year-old French defender played the final 40 minutes at St Mary's Stadium as Spurs earned a 3-2 victory against the Saints.

"I wouldn't hesitate putting him in and I don't think he let anyone down," Goal.com quotes him as saying. "He was quick and cool, I knew what I was going to get - I was confident putting him on.

"I knew he wouldn't be fazed, not only his attitude, I mean he trains like every day is his last in the world. And he listens and he has got a fantastic attitude."

Tottenham are back in Premier League action on Boxing Day when they face West Bromwich Albion at White Hart Lane.
