Alan Shearer: 'Future is bright for Harry Kane'

Former England striker Alan Shearer praises Tottenham Hotspur forward Harry Kane and believes that "the future is bright" for the 21-year-old.

Former England striker Alan Shearer has hailed Tottenham Hotspur forward Harry Kane and believes that "the future is bright" for the 21-year-old.

The youngster netted his 12th goal of the season in Saturday's 2-1 victory over Burnley which sent Spurs sixth in the Premier League table.

"Harry Kane has been brilliant," Shearer told BBC Sport. "When you look at the money Spurs have spent - some would say wasted - on the players in their team, it's ironic that a kid comes in form the youth team and does so well.

"He is quick, he's bright and he gets into the box where you are going to score your goals. His movement is brilliant. His desire to get into the box - that is what I like about him.

"He is intelligent. The future is bright for him."

The victory was Tottenham's third win in seven days, but only fourth at White Hart Lane in the Premier League this season.
