Mauricio Pochettino: 'Danny Rose deserves England call'

Tottenham Hotspur coach Mauricio Pochettino believes that Danny Rose is England's best left-back and should be included in the next squad.

Tottenham Hotspur coach Mauricio Pochettino has claimed that Danny Rose deserves an England call-up.

The 24-year-old has established himself as a regular at White Hart Lane this season, scoring three goals in 27 appearances for Spurs.

With England manager Roy Hodgson close to naming his squad for the upcoming games with Lithuania and Italy, Pochettino believes that Rose's performances during the current campaign should be enough to earn him a place in the Three Lions set-up.

"So far he has been the best left-back this season," the Argentine is quoted as saying by Goal.com. "His performances have been great. But they are not my decisions, it's always Roy Hodgson's decision.

"It's our job to compare our players with other players in the same position and we believe that Danny Rose has so far been the best English left-back. That's overall what we believe. We know all the stats from players in the same position. It's our stats, together with what we see as well."

Tottenham continue their chase for a top-four finish in the Premier League tomorrow when they face Manchester United at Old Trafford.
