Mauricio Pochettino keen to continue promoting youth players

Mauricio Pochettino reveals that he is keen to continue with his policy of handing chances to Tottenham Hotspur's academy graduates.

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Mauricio Pochettino has claimed that he will continue to bring youth team players into the senior squad at White Hart Lane.

Academy graduates Ryan Mason, Nabil Bentaleb and Andros Townsend have all been regulars under the Argentine this season, while Harry Kane has scored 24 goals in all competitions to put him on the brink of an England call-up.

Pochettino watched the club's Under-18s beat Chelsea 2-0 in the first leg of the FA Youth Cup semi-finals earlier this week, and he is confident that some of the youngsters will be involved with the first team soon.

"It was a very good game of high quality from both sides," the Spurs boss told reporters. "I was impressed. There are many players with big potential to become first-team players, but the main responsibility is to keep improving.

"Some of the players from the team who played in the Youth Cup have been training with us. We always want to give players a chance if they deserve it."

Spurs return to action against Queens Park Rangers on Saturday afternoon.
