Tottenham Hotspur's Toby Alderweireld 'to start Manchester United clash'

A report claims that Toby Alderweireld will return to the Tottenham Hotspur XI for their trip to Manchester United on Sunday afternoon.

Toby Alderweireld will reportedly return to the Tottenham Hotspur starting XI for Sunday's Premier League clash away to Manchester United.

The Belgian international missed almost two months of the season with a knee injury, but made his Spurs return off the bench in Wednesday's 3-1 victory over CSKA Moscow in the Champions League.

According to Sky Sports News, head coach Mauricio Pochettino is confident that the centre-back is now back to full fitness and will select him from the start at Old Trafford.

Earlier this week, it was reported that Alderweireld has a £25.4m release clause inserted into his Spurs contract, which has attracted the attention of a number of European clubs.

Spurs and Man United sit fifth and sixth respectively in the Premier League table ahead of Sunday's showdown.
