Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino thrilled with two-goal Son Heung-min

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino hails Son Heung-min after opening his account for the Lilywhites with a brace in the 3-1 Europa League win over Qarabag.

Mauricio Pochettino has paid tribute to Tottenham Hotspur new boy Son Heung-min after the player scored twice in tonight's 3-1 Europa League win at home to Qarabag.

The South Korean, a £22m signing from Bayer Leverkusen, lit up White Hart Lane with a first-half brace for what were his first two goals for Spurs.

The 23-year-old spearheaded the Lilywhites' attack in place of Harry Kane - who replaced him on 68 minutes - and Pochettino is delighted with his contribution.

"He scored twice and played one hour," Pochettino is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News.

"His performance - you can see I am very pleased with him, very happy. His adaptation to the club has been good from the beginning.

"I think I explained before the Sunderland game that Son can play like a striker. He can also play wider. He has the quality to play in different positions on the pitch."

Richard Almeida opened the scoring for the visitors after seven minutes, while Erik Lamela made the game safe in the final stages of normal time.
