Norwich City's Nathan Redmond delighted with "special" goal against Ipswich Town

Norwich City winger Nathan Redmond describes scoring in the Championship playoff semi-final victory over arch-rivals Ipswich Town as "something special".

Norwich City winger Nathan Redmond has expressed his delight after scoring in Norwich City's playoff semi-final victory over bitter enemies Ipswich Town.

After the first leg was drawn 1-1 a week ago, Norwich booked their place in Bank Holiday Monday's playoff final by overcoming 10-man Ipswich 3-1 at Carrow Road this afternoon.

Redmond scored the second after Ipswich had equalised and then set up Cameron Jerome for the third that sealed victory.

"I've always said I like assisting goals, but scoring a goal like that in a derby against Ipswich is something special," Redmond told the club website.

"I've played in four derbies this year, and this one was by far the best. It was a very good atmosphere, which made it a good day for the fans.

"It's been a long season with ups and downs, so this is a good feeling. We know if we get the ball down and play not many teams can stop us, so that's what we wanted to do."

Norwich will play Middlesbrough in the final at Wembley after they cruised to a 5-1 aggregate win over Brentford last night.
