Los Angeles Galaxy make comeback to share four goals with Montreal Impact

The Los Angeles Galaxy come from behind to settle for a 2-2 draw with the Montreal Impact at Saputo Stadium.

A second-half comeback has ensured that the Los Angeles Galaxy avoided a shock defeat as they held the Montreal Impact to a 2-2 draw at Saputo Stadium.

The visitors asked all of the questions early on but fell behind in the 28th minute when veteran striker Marco Di Vaio poked home Dilly Duka's cross from close range.

LA Galaxy pressed for an equaliser, with Robbie Keane and Landon Donovan both coming close, only to fall further behind two minutes before half time as Ignacio Piatti turned in Felipe Martins's pass following a swift counter-attack.

The half-time interval arrived at a good time for the visitors as they piled the pressure on Montreal early in the second half.

Galaxy reduced the deficit in the 59th minute when a Juninho corner caused problems for the Montral defence, allowing Gyasi Zardes to tap home from close range.

Despite their impressive start to the match, Montreal had nothing to show for their early dominance five minutes later as Los Angeles levelled the scores through Alan Gordon, who converted Keane's cross to make it 2-2 just a couple of moments after coming on as a substitute.

The visitors had all of the momentum going into the latter stages, but the best opportunity to win the match fell to the Impact as Di Vaio saw his low strike tipped just past the post by Brian Rowe.
