Paul Cox: 'Mansfield Town not yet safe from League Two relegation'

Mansfield Town boss Paul Cox insists that his team are not yet safe from relegation, despite moving 10 points clear of the League Two drop zone.

Mansfield Town boss Paul Cox has insisted that his team are not yet safe from relegation in League Two.

The Stags are now 10 points clear of the drop zone after climbing into the top half of the table following Saturday's 1-0 win over AFC Wimbledon.

"That was a big result for us," Cox told reporters. "The performance wasn't there, but I would always take a result over a performance.

"But it is just a win and we now have another big game ahead of us at Morecambe on Saturday. I would love to think we are now safe but mathematically we are not.

"It is not over until the fat lady sings and we will carry on right to the end. I want us to keep working hard and keep winning football matches. Nothing has been achieved yet."

Mansfield are unbeaten in their last four games and are fifth in the division's form guide.
