Report: Manchester United enter race with Chelsea to sign John Stones

Manchester United reportedly join the race to try to sign John Stones from Everton this summer.

Manchester United have entered the race to secure the signature of Everton defender John Stones, according to a report.

Chelsea have attempted to sign the 21-year-old and have already had a £20m bid rejected by Roberto Martinez's men, although they are said to be prepared to bid over £30m to take him to Stamford Bridge.

However, Everton are said to have become annoyed with Jose Mourinho's advances for the England international and United are looking to take advantage of the strained relationship between the clubs with an approach of their own, reports The Mirror.

Martinez's side have reportedly expressed an interest in signing Jonny Evans from the Red Devils this summer.
