Al-Hilal forward Neymar may reportedly be on the verge of returning to Brazilian giants Santos.
The attacker has endured a frustrating 18 months in Saudi Arabia, making just seven appearances in all competitions due to a serious knee injury.
Although the Brazil international is now fit again, having just six months remaining on his contract makes him an obvious target for various clubs around the world.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, his former club Santos are at the front of the queue for his signature with a loan proposal allegedly being submitted.
Should that be accepted, it would see the 32-year-old return to his first club, where he contributed a sensational 136 goals and 64 assists from 225 appearances.
Santos have just secured a return to the top flight as second-tier champions, the focus now being on trying to provide Pedro Caixinha with the tools to re-establish the club in Serie A.

Does Richarlison want Spurs stay?
Meanwhile, another Brazilian attacker in Richarlison is also reportedly looking to leave Tottenham Hotspur at some point in 2025.
Injury has restricted the 27-year-old to one start and eight substitute outings in all competitions during 2024-25, his second goal of the campaign coming against Everton on Sunday.
Nevertheless, as per Football Insider, Richarlison has already told friends that he sees his future away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The report suggests that he would like to secure a transfer to the Saudi Pro League during this transfer window or in the summer.
With Dominic Solanke viewed as first-choice striker by Ange Postecoglou, Richarlison has seemingly grown frustrated by being viewed as backup.
There are currently two-and-a-half years remaining on Richarlison's contract, something that may lead to Spurs starting to consider a sale should a suitable offer arrive.

Juventus enter Kelly race?
Over in Italy, Juventus are reportedly attempting to get a deal over the line for Newcastle United defender Lloyd Kelly.
The Magpies only signed the 26-year-old from Bournemouth on a free transfer in the summer, Kelly having since made seven starts and six substitute outings in all competitions.
Eddie Howe has since indicated that Kelly is not for sale, that claim being made when Fenerbahce emerged as suitors of his player's signature.
Nevertheless, according to Romano, Juventus are now attempting to sign the versatile Englishman as they bid to strengthen their injury-hit backline.
Juventus are seemingly keen to pay in the region of €15m (£12.69m) for Kelly, whether that be in January or via a loan proposal with obligation to buy.
Despite Howe's stance on Kelly, Newcastle have an opportunity to make a considerable profit on a squad player when they are known to be hampered with regards to making signings courtesy of the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability regulations.
