Newcastle United head coach Eddie Howe is expecting to have Tino Livramento available for Monday's Premier League contest against Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Livramento missed the 3-0 win over Aston Villa on Boxing Day through illness, but the defender is being backed to recover in time to take to the field for the first whistle against the 20-time English champions.
Kieran Trippier is therefore likely to drop down to the bench for the trip to Manchester, but it might otherwise be the same side that took to the field against Villa last time out, including a spot in the final third of the field for Jacob Murphy.
Callum Wilson, Jamaal Lascelles, Nick Pope and Emil Krafth remain unavailable for selection, while Sven Botman is still not ready for a first-team appearance, as he continues to recover from a serious knee injury.
Alexander Isak has scored 12 times in 19 appearances this season and will once again lead the line, with the 25-year-old bidding to find the back of the net for a sixth Premier League match in a row.
The Sweden international has 24 Premier League goals in 2024, and he is on the radar of a number of major clubs.
Dan Burn should continue in the middle, with Lewis Hall at left-back, while a strong midfield three of Bruno Guimaraes, Sandro Tonali and Joelinton will look to dominate the battle for possession.
Newcastle United possible starting lineup: Dubravka; Livramento, Schar, Burn, Hall; Guimaraes, Tonali, Joelinton; J Murphy, Isak, Gordon
