Manchester United team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Tottenham Hotspur

Sports Mole rounds up Manchester United's injury and suspension news ahead of Saturday's Premier League clash with Tottenham Hotspur.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will aim to recover from his "darkest day" in his career when Manchester United travel to Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Saturday evening.

The Norwegian witnessed his confidence-depleted side ship five goals to Liverpool in front of the Old Trafford crowd last time out, and the pressure continues to weigh heavier on his shoulders.

Such a result has left the Red Devils seventh in the table after nine matches, but they do have the luxury of an extended break while their rivals deal with EFL Cup clashes in midweek.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of Man United's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the contest.

Amad Diallo

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: October 30 (vs. Tottenham)

Amad Diallo's thigh problem prevented him from playing a part in the defeat to Liverpool, and the youthful attacker remains a major doubt for the trip to Tottenham.

Raphael Varane

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Groin
Possible return date: October 30 (vs. Tottenham)

Raphael Varane was a big miss at the weekend as he battles his way back from a groin problem, but Solskjaer is hopeful that the World Cup winner will return in North London.

Anthony Martial

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Knock
Possible return date: October 30 (vs. Tottenham)

Anthony Martial joined his compatriot Varane on the sidelines for the defeat to Liverpool, although he is thought to be closing in on a return to action and could make the cut here.

MAN UNITED'S SUSPENSION LIST

Paul Pogba

Return date: November 28 (vs. Chelsea)

Paul Pogba had only been on the pitch for 14 minutes against Liverpool before receiving a straight red card for a nasty challenge on Naby Keita, and the midfielder will serve the first of a three-game domestic suspension here.
