Spain head coach Vicente del Bosque has warned that if David de Gea does not get regular game time at Manchester United this season, his place at Euro 2016 could be in jeopardy.
The 24-year-old has not been included in any of United's competitive games this season as manager Louis van Gaal felt that the shot-stopper was distracted by transfer speculation.
De Gea was on the verge of signing for Real Madrid on Monday, but the deal fell through as the paperwork was not submitted before the Spanish midnight deadline.
"He needs to be professional and move on from this episode," Del Bosque told Marca. "I hope that he starts playing again and is happy, and if he plays well we can bring him along, otherwise if he doesn't play it will be very difficult for him to come [to the Euros]."
De Gea has been included in the squad for upcoming Euro qualifiers against Slovakia and Macedonia.
