Manchester United 'confident David de Gea will show commitment'

Manchester United are reportedly confident that David de Gea will resume focus and show his commitment to the club following his failed move to Real Madrid.

Manchester United are reportedly confident that David de Gea will re-focus his mind after his proposed move to Real Madrid fell through at the last minute on Monday.

The Spaniard was in Madrid earlier this week to complete a switch to the Bernabeu, but the relevant paperwork was not submitted before the midnight deadline.

De Gea has not been included in any of United's matchday squads this season as manager Louis van Gaal believes that the shot-stopper has not been in the right frame of mind to play.

However, according to The Express, the club are confident that De Gea will not become a disruptive influence and will show his commitment when he returns to the first team.

The report adds that United do not expect the goalkeeper to sign a new contract as he comes to the end of his current terms next year.
