Manchester City are reportedly holding out for a £7m loan fee for England international Kalvin Phillips, who is attracting interest from across Europe.

Manchester City are reportedly keen to receive a £7m loan fee for England international Kalvin Phillips.

The 28-year-old continues to be linked with a move away from the Etihad Stadium after failing to establish himself in Pep Guardiola's side.

Phillips, who joined Man City from Leeds United in the summer of 2022, made just four starts in 21 competitive appearances during his first campaign with the club.

The Englishman has continued to find game time hard to come by this season, having featured in just 10 matches across all competitions.

With Phillips unable to force his way into Guardiola's plans, Man City are willing to sanction a loan departure before the end of the month.

The midfielder's availability has led to interest from a number of clubs, including Newcastle United, West Ham United and Crystal Palace.

However, according to The Guardian, Man City's significant financial demands could scupper his chances of securing a loan move in the January window.

The report claims that his potential suitors are waiting for the Citizens to drop their current demands for a £7m loan fee.

Newcastle are believed to be among the clubs unwilling to pay £7m for a player who will only be with them until the end of the season.

In addition to the links with several Premier League clubs, Phillips has also emerged as a possible target for Juventus, Atletico Madrid and Barcelona.

There is seemingly hope among the interested parties that Man City could change their stance as the transfer window moves towards the deadline on January 31.

Even if a team agrees a loan deal with Man City, Phillips will want guarantees of regular football before he commits to a new club.

The former Leeds man is looking to prove his worth to England boss Gareth Southgate ahead of this summer's European Championships in Germany.
