Simon Mignolet keen to hold talks with Liverpool

Goalkeeper Simon Mignolet is keen to hold talks with Liverpool after the World Cup in order to determine his immediate future at Anfield.

Goalkeeper Simon Mignolet has acknowledged that he will look to hold talks with Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp after the World Cup.

Mignolet is currently in the Belgium squad which is competing in the tournament in Russia, but the stopper's club future remains up in the air after losing his place to Loris Karius.

Reports earlier this year suggested that Mignolet would be sold during the summer transfer window, but the 30-year-old has indicated that he does not know where he will be playing his football during the upcoming campaign.

Mignolet is quoted by The Guardian as saying: "I am going to look at my situation when I come back from the World Cup.

"At this moment I have not been speaking to anyone at Liverpool because I have been trying to focus on Belgium. John Achterberg sends me a text before every game, to see how I am and if I am fit, so I keep in touch with him.

"I didn't play in the last few months at Liverpool, so after the World Cup I will look at everything. I can't say much more. I don't know how long I will have off after the tournament. I need to speak to the manager about that."

Mignolet still has three years remaining on his contract.
