Team News: Vincent Janssen drops out for Spurs, Liverpool's Philippe Coutinho starts

Vincent Janssen drops out of Tottenham Hotspur's starting XI, while Philippe Coutinho starts for Liverpool at White Hart Lane.

Vincent Janssen has dropped out of Tottenham Hotspur's starting XI, while Philippe Coutinho has been passed fit for Liverpool in today's Premier League clash at White Hart Lane.

Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino played summer signing Janssen in last weekend's 1-0 win over Crystal Palace alongside Harry Kane, but he has to settle for a spot on the bench this time.

As a result, Dele Alli comes back into the fray, positioned with Eric Dier, Victor Wanyama, Christian Eriksen and Erik Lamela in a five-man midfield.

Meanwhile, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has started Coutinho, despite concerns over a muscle issue, while Emre Can misses out due to injury and Divock Origi moves onto the bench.

Georginio Wijnaldum returns to the starting lineup after being left out of the team for Tuesday's 5-0 win over Burton Albion in the EFL Cup, while Joel Matip makes his Premier League debut.

Daniel Sturridge has to settle for a spot on Liverpool's substitutes' bench, with Roberto Firmino selected as the forwardmost attacker in the lineup.

Tottenham Hotspur: Vorm; Walker, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Rose; Dier, Wanyama, Eriksen, Alli, Lamela; Kane

Liverpool: Mignolet; Clyne, Matip, Lovren, Milner; Henderson, Wijnaldum, Lallana; Mane, Coutinho, Firmino
