Report: Brendan Rodgers's job as Liverpool manager is safe

Liverpool's American owners reportedly have no plans to sack manager Brendan Rodgers, but will discuss all matters in their end-of-season review next week.

Liverpool's American owners Fenway Sports Group reportedly have no immediate intention of sacking manager Brendan Rodgers.

The Northern Irishman will meet with the club's hierarchy for an end-of-season review once they wrap up the campaign away to Stoke City on Sunday.

It has been a disappointing season for the Reds as they have failed to qualify for the Champions League and also lost in the semi-finals of both the League Cup and FA Cup.

According to ESPN, while Rodgers's position at Anfield is secure, FSG are unhappy with how the season has unfolded and a post-mortem will be conducted, with the club's transfer strategy also being discussed.

The Merseyside outfit spent more than £100m last summer on nine new signings, but most of the new additions have failed to make a significant impact in their first seasons at Anfield.

The club, who will lose captain Steven Gerrard to MLS side Los Angeles Galaxy this summer, also have to deal with the future of Raheem Sterling, who is reportedly intending to tell Rodgers this week that he will not sign a new contract.

Rodgers is expected to meet with FSG president Mike Gordon after Sunday's game against Stoke and will later have talks with owner John W Henry and chairman Tom Werner.
