Jamie Redknapp: 'It would have been a travesty if Liverpool lost'

Jamie Redknapp believes that Liverpool deserved their point at the very least from their Premier League match against Arsenal at Anfield.

Jamie Redknapp has expressed his belief that it would have been a "travesty" if Liverpool had lost to Arsenal in their Premier League clash.

The Reds had the better of the fixture at Anfield as they edged ahead in the first half through Philippe Coutinho, but strikes from Mathieu Debuchy and Olivier Giroud put the Gunners in the lead.

Arsene Wenger's men looked like taking the three points from the game until Martin Skrtel equalised in the 97th minute, which Redknapp feels was a fully deserved point.

Redknapp told Sky Sports News: "Liverpool certainly didn't deserve to lose today. It would have been a travesty if Liverpool would have lost that game. They were magnificent.

"They have been battered at times this season. They've conceded too many goals and not been at their best for a while.

"If you are looking for positives, today is as good as it gets for Liverpool."

Brendan Rodgers's side are 10th in the Premier League with 22 points from their 17 matches this season.
