Lincoln City's recent troubles have continued after they suffered a 2-1 defeat at home to Altrincham this evening.
Altrincham started brightly at Sincil Bank by immediately forcing a couple of corners before Adam Griffin had a free kick held by goalkeeper Paul Farman.
However, the hosts improved and had a goal ruled out for offside by Jordan Burrow while Sean Newton forced a solid stop out of Dave Parton.
Burrow and James Lawrie squandered openings for their respective sides, but just as it seemed the first half would end without the deadlock being broken, Altrincham opened the scoring in stunning fashion.
Simon Richman received the ball around 25 yards from goal before driving a long-range effort into the top corner for his first goal of the campaign.
Six minutes after the restart, Damian Reeves doubled the visitors' lead when he stooped low to head home a cross from Lawrie to put Altrincham on course for just their second win on the road this season.
Chris Moyses, standing in for Gary Simpson who has been placed on gardening leave, threw on Connor Robinson with half an hour remaining and the alteration brought an immediate reward five minutes after his introduction.
The 20-year-old strike latched on to a forward ball before applying a composed finish for his second of the campaign to give his team hope for the remaining 24 minutes.
Ben Tomlinson tested Parton a minute after Robinson's strike, but aside from that effort, Lincoln were struggling to create opportunities against a spirited display from Altricham's backline.
Burrow had two late chances for the home side but after he failed to bring Lincoln level, Altrincham held on to move into 17th place in the standings.
