Scott Parker determined to begin season with victory

Scott Parker believes that beating Ipswich Town is crucial for Fulham as they look to quickly settle in the Championship.

Scott Parker has suggested that a victory over Ipswich Town on the opening weekend of the Championship could be crucial for Fulham.

The Cottagers are looking for an immediate return to the Premier League following their relegation last season, and Parker has no doubt that finding form quickly could be the key for Felix Magath's side.

"If we can get off to a good start, then it will put us in good stead to push on," the 33-year-old told the club's official website.

"Ipswich is a tough first game, away from home too. They have a very good squad, they've been in this division for a while now and they're under a very good manager. We hope to get a positive result which can springboard us on to carry on doing well."

You can follow live text coverage of Fulham's trip to face Ipswich on Sports Mole from 4.45pm on Saturday afternoon.
