Chelsea defender Ryan Bertrand has signed a five-year deal at Stamford Bridge to keep him at the club until 2017.
The left-sided player has excelled since coming into the side at the end of last season which culminated in a place in the starting lineup for the Champions League final against Bayern Munich.
The 23-year-old netted his first Chelsea goal in the club's 3-2 defeat to Manchester City in the Community Shield and he was rewarded with a starting spot in Chelsea's 2-0 win over Wigan on the opening day of the season.
Bertrand has also impressed on the international scene and after a series of excellent displays for Team GB at the Olympics during the summer, he was rewarded with an England debut in their 2-1 win over Italy in August.
