Zinedine Zidane insists that the Bernabeu 'will always remain the true home' of Alvaro Morata, as he closes in on a big-money move to Chelsea.

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has wished striker Alvaro Morata "all the luck in the world" ahead of his impending move to Chelsea.

The Spain international is to join the Blues in a deal thought to be worth an initial £68m once completing a medical and agreeing personal terms.

Morata was used as a back-up player during his only campaign under Zidane at the Bernabeu, starting just 18 games in all competitions but still managing to net 20 goals.

Los Blancos chief Zidane says that it was the player's decision to leave the club, but believes the Bernabeu will always remain his true home.

"We wish him all the luck in the world, but less against Madrid," he told ESPN. "In the end, we know that Madrid is his home, it has always been Madrid, he has been here all his life. Then you have to make decisions and he has made the decision to go to another club."

Morata, who arrived in London on Thursday to undergo a medical, is expected to link up with his soon-to-be Chelsea teammates in Asia by the end of the weekend.
