Filipe Luis: 'Jose Mourinho's comments to the press can be damaging for players'

Filipe Luis says that Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho's comments to the media can be "damaging" to his players.

Filipe Luis has claimed that Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho can cause 'damage' to his players if he complains about them to the press.

Mourinho has been in trouble with the Football Association on numerous occasions, and he has also publicly criticised John Terry and Eden Hazard at times this season.

Filipe, who spent just one season at Chelsea before returning to Atletico Madrid in the summer, has praised his former manager, but questions some of his conduct with the media.

"Sometimes he's right and sometimes he's not," Luis said in an interview with Yahoo! Sport. "Sometimes people think what he says is absurd and sometimes they agree with him. It's the way he is and the way he works - I see it as normal.

"He has his way of talking to the press, especially when the team loses, which can sometimes be damaging to certain players. Some players benefit from criticism but for others they don't."

Luis made 20 appearances for Chelsea last season.
