John Terry: 'Didier Drogba is still a top player'

John Terry claims that he still considers Didier Drogba to be a "top player" following their reunion in the Champions League.

Chelsea captain John Terry has claimed that he still considers Didier Drogba to be a high-class player after facing his former teammate on Tuesday night.

Drogba returned to Stamford Bridge with Galatasaray in the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie but was unable to make an impact as Chelsea eased into the next round thanks to a 3-1 aggregate victory.

However, Terry was still full of praise for the Ivorian when questioned about the battle with the 36-year-old over the two games.

"When the ball goes up from the keeper, no matter how strong you are, you can't get it off him and I don't think there's anyone better in the world, even still today doing that job in that role," the defender told Sky Sports News.

"He's still a massive threat and still a top, top player and I think it was great for him to finally get a proper send-off from the Chelsea fans tonight."

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho hinted earlier this week that he could make a move for Drogba in the summer.
