Burnley are reportedly looking to sign Sheffield United goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale if Nick Pope decides to leave the club this summer.

Burnley will reportedly look to sign Sheffield United goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale if Nick Pope were to leave the club this summer.

Sean Dyche's current number one has been a standout performer for the Clarets this campaign and is attracting interest from a few of the so-called top six clubs in the Premier League.

Pope is also set to be named in Gareth Southgate's England squad for the upcoming Euro 2020 tournament and will compete with Everton's Jordan Pickford for a place in the starting lineup.

According to The Sun, Burnley value Pope at around £45m and if they were to sell the 29-year-old this summer, then they would look to sign Ramsdale for half that price, a deal they believe would present good value for money.

The report also claims that the Clarets are weighing up the option to re-sign Tom Heaton from Aston Villa, although the 35-year-old is being monitored by Manchester United, who see him as an ideal backup goalkeeper.

Ramsdale only joined Sheffield United last summer from Bournemouth for £18.5m, but the 22-year-old could be persuaded to stay in the Premier League with a move to Turf Moor.

The England Under-21 international has started in all 34 Premier League matches for the Blades this season and has made 128 saves, the third most in the division.
