Franck Ribery says that he always knew that Bayern Munich were capable of scoring goals against Barcelona.

Bayern Munich winger Franck Ribery has no doubts that his side's hard work paid off during their victory over Barcelona in the Champions League on Tuesday.

The German side have one foot in the final after thrashing the Catalan outfit 4-0 in the semi-final first leg at the Allianz Arena.

While he is aware that they still have the second leg to contend with, Ribery admits that he was always confident that they could score against the La Liga leaders.

"To get such a result, we knew we had to work together," Ribery told TEAMtalk. "Apart from that, we knew we had a striker who could score.

"We're very happy. There is one game left but I think we performed well tonight."

The second leg gets underway at Camp Nou next Wednesday.
