Barcelona team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Real Sociedad

Sports Mole rounds up all of Barcelona's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their La Liga clash with Real Sociedad on Wednesday evening.

Barcelona will be determined to build on their weekend win over Levante when they welcome current La Liga table-toppers Real Sociedad to Camp Nou for Wednesday's showdown.

Ronald Koeman was indebted to talisman Lionel Messi as his 76th-minute strike propelled Barca to a narrow victory over Levante, with La Blaugrana now eighth in the table having played 11 matches so far.

Barca's opponents Sociedad have played out three consecutive draws in the top flight, but the visitors are still leading the way over closest challengers Atletico Madrid, and have only shipped six goals all season in La Liga.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of Barcelona's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Wednesday's game against Sociedad.

The injury-plagued Ousmane Dembele has suffered yet another problem, with Barcelona confirming last week that the winger has sustained a hamstring issue. The Blaugrana have not put a timeframe on Dembele's return, but the 23-year-old is certain to miss out here.

Ansu Fati

Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Dembele's fellow winger Ansu Fati is out for the long term after undergoing knee surgery, with the promising starlet not expected to return to action before the spring.

Sergi Roberto's recent positive coronavirus test added insult to injury for the Spanish right-back, who will not take to the pitch again until January at the earliest with a thigh problem.
