Laurent Koscielny has admitted that he and his Arsenal teammates are suffering a crisis of confidence at the moment.
The Gunners bowed out of the Champions League to Barcelona on Wednesday night in a defeat which ensures that they can only win the Premier League this season.
Arsene Wenger's kicked off the calendar year as top dogs in the table, but a testing few months has seen them drop to third, 11 points adrift of leaders Leicester City.
"It's difficult because the results are not there and we are frustrated with this," he told the Arsenal website. "We didn't fight like we did during the first six months because we lost a little confidence in ourselves. Then it's harder to win some games.
"We need to get back to our basics, to help our teammates more with defending and attacking.
"Play simple, with controlled passes and movement. We didn't lose our capacity physically and our technique. It's just mental. We need to do more."
Wenger's troops, who had won the last two FA Cups, saw their long defence of that title come to an end on Sunday by losing to Watford at the Emirates.
