Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger expects David Ospina to be back within the next three weeks following the return of scan results.

Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina is struggling with an ankle injury that will keep him out for up to three weeks.

The Colombia international has featured heavily for the Gunners in cup competitions this term, making a combined 14 appearances in the Europa League, FA Cup and EFL Cup.

Ospina was forced to sit out Thursday night's 4-1 win over CSKA Moscow in Europe, though, due to an issue with his knee that will also sideline him for the return leg next week.

"He just moved back to make a save and sprained his ankle. There was no contact," he told reporters at his post-match presser. "The scan today was reassuring. He will be out for two to three weeks. [On Wednesday] we were scared for a very serious injury, but today the scan was reassuring."

Arsenal may also be without Henrikh Mkhitaryan for their trip to Russia next week, as the Armenian playmaker is struggling with a knee problem.
